A Winter Wedding in London

The wedding of Arabella Musgrave, Gucci's head of communications,
to investment banker George Galliers-Pratt is so quintessentially
London I am losing my mind. The bride got ready at The Berkeley,
the ceremony took place at St. Paul's (ARE YOU KIDDING ME?), and
the whole affair was just too chic to squeeze into one reception, so
why not throw two - first, a lunch at The Berkeley and then a dinner
with "60 of [their] closest friends" at Little House in Mayfair
(members only, duh) where "Dinner was canapés served on large wooden
platters, and lamb for the main course, followed by espresso
martinis". In other words, it was basically heaven.

The bride, of course, wore Gucci - but it gets better:

"I have worked for Gucci for four years now. Years earlier, I saw
a deep fuchsia runway version of this dress from one of Frida
Giannini's first-ever collections for the house, and I thought the
silhouette would make for a really beautiful wedding dress. I
couldn't believe it when Gucci agreed to re-create it specifically
for me. We made only small modifications to the original design,
like adding lace to the collar and using a belt rather than a sash
around the waist. I didn't try on any other wedding dresses -
this was the only one I ever wanted to wear." (Vogue)

Emphasis, mine. Dream life, hers.

The bride's close friend Fin Fellowes did the illustrations.

Arabella changed into a white lace Sophia Kah dress
and Gianvito Rossi heels for the reception at Little House.

A few other weddings not to be missed:

Cowshed | London

Have you heard of Cowshed? The English skincare brand, which
got its start in a - you guessed it - cow shed in Somerset
is one of my favorite London discoveries. The scents
(all named after moody cows) are unique and fresh.
And how cool is the packaging?

Cowshed now has spas across the UK (and even abroad at
Soho House Berlin, Miami, and New York). Inside,
they're the perfect mix of funky and rustic. Might just
have to book myself a little spa day for my birthday
coming up (MOM ARE YOU READING?) #treatyoself.

STYLE ICON: Amanda Brooks

Image via Vogue

When I moved to London, I had delusions of grandeur and
envisioned my new English life full of weekends in
the countryside and old Land Rover Defenders. Needless
to say, it's not. BUT! I can pretend it is every morning
when I check in with my imaginary best friend Amanda Brooks
over at I Love Your Style. Amanda is the former fashion director
at Barney's who called it quits on NYC and moved to
Fairgreen Farm in beautiful Oxfordshire.

Some of my favorite shots from her Instagram, amandacbrooks:

And don't miss Amanda's feature over at The Selby.
I'm already packing my bags for a Cotswolds getaway...

London Lately

According to my Instagram, that is.
Lots of food. Lots of alcohol. Dogs in pubs.
What could be better?
